The CG18DSDL is also equipped with Hitachi's new flat disc motor technology. Located at the trimmer head, the motor is sealed and will not allow dust and water to penetrate, resulting in low maintenance. The advantage of this low-profile motor located at the base provides better balance by offsetting the battery pack at the back of the trimmer, while removing the need for a SuperDrive, thus increasing efficiency of power transfer and durability. Powered by a high capacity 18 Volt, 3.0 Ah lithium ion battery and charger, the CG18DSDL is ideal for the consumer who needs to trims efficiently without a lot of hassle of mixing fuel, tripping over power cords, and engine maintenance associated with traditional gas powered trimmers.
