Turn your Dremel rotary tool into a versatile sanding machine with the 430 1/4 In. (6.4 mm) Sanding Band & Drum Mandrel. A sanding drum mandrel holds a sanding band covered with aluminum oxide. Sanding bands can be used to remove finishes, remove rust from metal surfaces, or rough shape and smooth on wood, rubber, fiberglass, metal, and other soft materials. The flathead end of the wrench included in most rotary tool kits can be used to loosen or tighten the screw of the drum mandrel to secure your sanding band in place. TIPS: For best results, insert the accessory bit all the way into the tool and then back it out slightly before tightening down. This provides plenty of shank for the collet or chuck to hold onto. Use a slow speed with this accessory and keep a very light touch for more effective sanding.
